Description
Equipment and options when ordering
Standard equipment: PRD2WIFI controller, 180 cm power cable and 230 V socket.
- STANDARD probes: 0–2 pcs.; 1 probe +30 PLN, 2 probes +60 PLN.
A controller you can operate from the enclosure, phone and computer
PRD2WIFI combines power and temperature control with a modern network interface. It controls a 230 V load up to 5.5 kW, supports up to two DS18B20 probes and gives access to parameters, temperatures, setpoints and service functions through a local web page.

Wi‑Fi is not just part of the name. It genuinely changes how the controller is used.
PRD2WIFI has its own web panel. At home, in the workshop or by the smokehouse, you do not need to stand next to the controller to check temperatures or change setpoints. A phone, tablet or computer on the same network is enough.
Live view
Temperatures T and Ta, current power, controller status and essential information are clearly shown on one screen and refresh automatically.
Setpoints from your phone
From the local web page you can change T and Ta setpoints and, in MANUAL mode, manual power. Current firmware also supports local START and STOP.
No mandatory cloud
The local page works independently of PAMEL CLOUD. The controller can be used normally on the local network and, when no network is saved, starts its own access point.
This is the real PRD2WIFI web panel
This is not a future mock-up. The screens below are based on the controller’s actual interface.

Three operating methods – from simple power control to PID
Not every process needs the same algorithm. PRD2WIFI lets you select the operating method that suits the application.
MANUAL
You set power from 0–100%. In current firmware this mode can also operate without probes. If T is connected, the temperature safety limit can still remain active.
AUTO
Automatic temperature control. The controller uses probe T and the WSP parameter. You can also decide whether the second probe Ta is required and whether reaching Ta should end the process.
AUTO_PID
For more demanding temperature stability. The controller uses Kp, Ki and Kd parameters. Probe T is required, while Ta can remain an additional measurement or an end condition.
PI/PID autotuning – the controller can help select parameters for your smokehouse
Current PRD2WIFI software includes autotuning for AUTO_PID mode. The controller performs a controlled heating test and calculates suggested PID parameters for the specific smokehouse.
- function can be started only while STOPPED
- requires a working T probe
- respects the temperature safety limit
- after completion you can save the calculated Kp, Ki and Kd values
- the function is intended for smokehouses – results in other systems may not be representative

Old RJ45 probes? New D‑SUB? PRD2WIFI supports both standards
This matters especially to users of earlier PAMEL controllers. PRD2WIFI has two D‑SUB 9 connectors and one RJ45 connector for probes. They operate in parallel on the common DS18B20 sensor bus.
- you can continue using older RJ45 probes you already own
- new probes connect through D‑SUB 9
- the controller remembers identifiers of detected probes
- the “SWAP T/Ta” function changes probe assignment without moving plugs

First configuration without cables or PC software
If the controller cannot connect to a saved network, it starts its own PRD2WIFI access point. Connect with a phone or computer, open the device page and select your Wi‑Fi network.
- 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi
- AP mode for first configuration or after Wi‑Fi reset
- scan available networks from the web page
- view the current SSID and IP address
- local control does not require a cloud account
PAMEL CLOUD – remote access is optional, not required for operation
After pairing the device, PAMEL CLOUD services can be used according to the active service scope. The controller still regulates temperature locally – loss of Internet access or CLOUD access does not stop its basic operation.

More than temperature control
Built-in tools help both during everyday use and while diagnosing the device.
Statistics
Number of started processes, total controller operating time and total heater operating time.
Event log
The controller records important events including START/STOP, alarms, setpoint changes, settings changes and autotuning operations.
Service report
A JSON report with device status, settings, counters and events can be downloaded from the local page – without exposing passwords or secrets.
OTA updates
A new software version can be checked and installed from the system page. The package is verified before acceptance.
Probe calibration
Each T and Ta channel has its own multiplier and temperature correction to match readings to the specific probe.
5 languages
The device interface and local web page support Polish, Czech, Slovak, English and German.
Two levels of power-path safety
PRD2WIFI controls the load through a triac, while an additional safety relay disconnects the power path on STOP or alarm. Software also checks required probes and the T temperature limit.
- STOP sets power to zero and switches off heating
- a critical alarm disconnects the output
- adjustable T LIMIT
- optional process completion after reaching Ta
- audible alarm indication

Frequently asked questions
Can I use older PAMEL probes with RJ45?
Yes. PRD2WIFI retains an RJ45 socket for the older probe standard and also has two newer D‑SUB 9 connectors.
Do I need PAMEL CLOUD?
No. The local web page works on the same Wi‑Fi network or in AP mode. CLOUD is a separate optional remote channel.
Can the controller work without probes?
In current firmware MANUAL mode can operate without probes. Automatic modes require probes according to the selected mode and settings.
Can the process end on the second temperature?
Yes. When STOP ON Ta is enabled, reaching the set Ta temperature stops the process.
Can settings be changed while running?
From the local web page, basic process setpoints – T, Ta and manual power – can be changed while running. Advanced settings are locked during operation.
What is PRD2WIFI best used for?
For controlling resistive heaters in smokehouses, tanks, heating systems and other processes where power or temperature control matters.
A proven PAMEL controller concept in a modern network version
PRD2WIFI combines practical power and temperature control with convenient configuration and monitoring over Wi‑Fi. It is for users who want the functionality of a classic controller together with a modern interface and network features. PRD2WIFI – power and temperature controller, up to 2 probes is designed for users who expect more than a list of specifications: ease of use, component compatibility and predictable operation matter.
What do you gain in practice?
- power and temperature control in one device
- more convenient access to settings
- Wi‑Fi as a practical tool, not a gimmick
- the ability to build a coherent set with PAMEL probes
These are the features that most often determine satisfaction after purchase. Technical equipment should help you run the process instead of creating more problems to solve.
PAMEL experience matters
PAMEL develops controllers, measuring systems and accessories for smoking, distillation, heating control and temperature measurement. Products are designed as parts of a larger ecosystem, so compatibility with probes, cables, power elements and software is considered alongside the device itself. Functionality comes from practical use. Needed functions should be accessible and clear, while unnecessary complexity should not obstruct everyday work.
Reliability means predictable operation day after day
In everyday use, the most appreciated devices are those that simply do their job. Stable measurement, reliable connections and logical operation let you focus on the process instead of constantly checking the automation. PRD2WIFI is part of a PAMEL solution that can be expanded, serviced and adapted as user needs change.
A good choice for today and a sensible base for the future
Installations often develop with user experience. You may later need another probe, more power, data logging or additional accessories. Staying within one product family makes such changes easier and helps avoid rebuilding the whole system from scratch. If you value robustness, functionality, expandability and manufacturer support, PRD2WIFI was designed with exactly that approach.
PRD2WIFI – the classic PAMEL controller in a modern network version
Use it the way that suits you: with three buttons on the enclosure or through a browser on your phone and computer. Older RJ45 probes can still be used, while new installations can be built around D‑SUB 9 connectors.
